Privacy
BayCounty.me doesn't sell, share or track you. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies, on the website or in the iPhone app.
The website
- Visits. The site counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't identify you.
- Email alerts. If you sign up, we keep your email address and what you chose to follow, so we can send the emails. Every email has a link to change or stop them. To have your address deleted entirely, email us.
- Contact form. Your message, name and email come to us by email so we can answer. They aren't added to any list.
- API. Requests to the public API are logged with the caller's IP address for 90 days to stop abuse, then deleted.
- My Address. Address lookups go straight from your browser to Bay County's and FEMA's public map servers. BayCounty.me doesn't receive or store what you look up.
The iPhone app
- No data collected. The app has no accounts, analytics or advertising, and sends nothing about you to BayCounty.me.
- Your address and location. If you save a home address, it stays on your phone. If you tap "Use my location," the app asks permission first and uses your location once to find your address on Bay County's public map server. It isn't stored or sent anywhere else.
- Downloaded data. The app saves copies of the public records it shows so it works offline. Deleting the app deletes them.
- Crash reports. If you've allowed it in your iPhone settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with the developer.
